What is left when love is gone?
Wonder where we went wrong
No more sun, sea breezes or
Sharing poems or songs.

Love flies away on heavy wings,
Amongst clouded tearing skies,
Such sadness the heart stings,
Differences only trouble brings.

What is left when love is no more?
Emptiness on stark seashores,
If you were here when oceans roar,
Gentle knocking at my back door.

Love washed away by thunderstorms,
Love is not always ideal or uniform,
Sometimes it takes time to transform
To love without question or terms.

Where is love? Fleeing you and me,
Love is gone when we cannot agree,
It can often weather stormy seas,
Love cannot last if you leave me.

Blustery weekend on an emotionally desolate beach.
