"To sail the sphere of shimmering light..."
“To sail the sphere of shimmering light…”

When I awakened to mirrored seas, mariners
Like me ventured out, faces veiled, vague and
Distant, silent watches, ancient races bound
By cresting waves, horizon a lingering dawn,
Ocean shores cerulean-glass, yet we set course
Upon crystalline streams, resistless tides
Pushing high against the sky, glories of heart
And welling brine, to harness wind, to sail the
Sphere of shimmering light.
