Listening to your rhythmic breathing, I ask,
“How long will we love?” At arm’s length,
We sleep as sisters, comforter we share to
Fend off winter’s bite. In clashing PJs and
Fluffy socks, we hardly match or touch.
Together, we have found companionship,
Trust to share thoughts, dreams, troubles.
And most especially dear to me, we share
Selections from favourite books.
How long will we love?
At least a thousand ocean sunrises.
Then rekindling love and passion,
Our self-penned chapters begin anew.

A poem of unfettered female love and companionship.
