BLD077330It does not matter how we love.
What matters is that we do, as
Sisters or impassioned lovers,
Your presence in my life is what
I care about, that we are always
There for each other, no matter
Where we are or what we do.

We love as clouds upon the ocean
Beneath a vast transparent sphere.
Adrift in sunlight, we are subject
To lofty, guiding winds that vary
Our course and speed. For ethereal
Moments, we touch and merge in
Vaporous luminescence, a myriad
Of airy shapes and cumulus delights.

As the sun slips beneath the horizon,
We search out each other, like mist
Clinging to the beach. At night we
Sleep, enamored and entangled, limbs
Of flesh and bone beneath a starry
Cathedral, our re-affirmation of love,
Life, and the radiance in your eyes.

Inspired by interactions of ocean clouds, this love and romance poem has nautical undertones.

During mid-winter, a cold mist clings on the Virginia Atlantic Ocean shore of Assateague Island.
